Murder Charges in Crash That Killed PA Firefighter

A woman charged with DUI is now facing third-degree murder charges for a Lower Merion Township crash that killed firefighter Thomas Royds in July.

Officials say Jacquelyn Walker, 63, was impaired while driving a 2004 Jeep that was in poor condition, including malfunctioning brakes, when she slammed into emergency crews at the scene of an accident on I-76 in Montgomery County on July 24.

The crash in Lower Merion Township killed firefighter Thomas Royds, 49, and injured two other responders.

Walker, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, is charged with third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and other related offenses.
